Our Colored Bucks

This page was last updated on November 26, 2007.

We have collected semen from all of our bucks and are offering semen from most of them to the public. For more information on semen, contact us or Geoff and Nancy Masterson at Superior Semen Works. Their website can be found at www.superiorsemenworks.com.

2XL Splatter's Black Gambler

"Gator"

This is a black buck that we are very proud to have produced here at 2XL and plan to use him heavily in our black and colored breeding program. He is an own son of our SA red buck, NDR Xtreme Gambler, and one of our leading colored does, AGC88 LO Black Splatter. Both of his parents offer some of the best Boer goat genetics in the industry in their pedigrees. This mating has brought it all together in this young buck. His sire is red and his dam is a powerful, uniquely colored black and white paint. Both his sire and dam can be seen on our website.

Look at the breed character in this black buck. He has bone, depth, width from the front to the back, an outstanding set of hind legs, and breed character. He has a beautiful head and horn set. He has a great top, and carries that same thickness all the way to his underside. This is a black buck that we feel brings it all together in one neat package. We are looking forward to using this buck and watching him add to the Black Boer goats through his progeny. We will be having this buck collected later this fall and offering limited quantities to the public.

People have asked why we call him "Gator" when his name is 2XL Splatter's Black Gambler. It was one day while we were unloading feed at the barn. My Dad left the Gator running like he did everyday. I had told him many times not to do that, but we all know that old habits are hard to break. The kids were playing on the Gator like they did everyday when it was left unattended. We all know that if it is there, they are going to climb on it. This young buck was standing in the driver's seat when he stepped on the gear shift and drove off. Ever since that day, 2XL Splatter's Black Gambler has been called "Gator". Look for him in the pedigrees of our black goats in a couple of years.

NDR Xtreme Gambler

"Gambler"

Thanks to Judi Allison for allowing us to use this picture on our website.

"Gambler" is one of the outstanding full South African bucks that we have in to our collection of colored herd bucks. We have partnered again with D&K Boer Goats and Rocky Springs Farms on this investment. He was bred by our friends Dennis and Judy Ansetta at Never Done Ranch of Louisiana. They have an outstanding set of colored animals that are backed by generations of proven producers.

We spent a big part of the 2003 looking for bucks that we felt will add to our colored  breeding program. Gambler is a young buck with the color and outstanding pedigree that we wanted along with the structural correctness and breed character that we demand in our breeding animals. This is only one of the young bucks that we are adding to our colored breeding bucks, but he definitely has the most impressive pedigree.

Gambler is a Grandson of Ennobled Eggstreme. His immediate pedigree also includes; Ennobled Sasquatch, LSBG G49 National R. Champion Buck, African Amy Ennobled Grand Champion Doe, Turu National R. Champion Buck, Tabu Ennobled National Grand Champion Buck, Tamu Ennobled National Grand Champion Doe, and Balson's Kijani National Grand Champion Doe and the first Permanent Grand Champion Doe in the International Boer Goat Association.
We would like to thank Dennis and Judy Ansetta for allowing us the opportunity to purchase this wonderful young buck. If he had of been kidded here at 2XL Boer Goats, he would not have been for sale. Never Done Ranch has been selectively breeding outstanding colored Boer goats for years and are obviously doing a great job.

Bosque Valley Sharif's Cody

(Deceased)

"Cody"

Although we lost this outstanding buck in the spring of 2006, we will continue to use his genetics in our herd through his daughters and artificial insemination. This buck was one of the building blocks of our herd, and will be greatly missed around the farm. He was a powerful stud buck, but still a gentle giant.

Cody was a full South African buck that we purchased from Rena Lynch at Bosque Valley Boer Goats. He was out Rena's buck, Sharif, who is a son of Sumo (Ennobled) which makes him double bred Mojo Magic (Ennobled) and he was out of a Colt 45 daughter. This genetic combination adds Sumo (Ennobled), Mojo Magic (Ennobled), JLF Amelo "Precious Perfect", JLF Frances (Ennobled), Stallion, Colt 45,and LSBG Balson's to our breeding program.

This big-framed South African buck had eye appeal and beautiful colored markings. He was unusually long with a beautiful head and neck set. We saw this buck  pass these qualities on to his offspring. He was well known for producing kids that were wide chested with a beautifully clean front end. He has produced outstanding show wether prospects that carry his size and frame. We are also keeping does from this buck to return to our breeding herd. We were very pleased with him and what he has brought to our program. We are thankful to  Mr. and Mrs. Farmer and Rena Lynch for making this type of genetic package available.

This buck is listed on both our "Traditional" and "Colored Buck" links. We at 2XL and D&K Boer Goats have used this buck on both types of does. He has produced some outstanding traditional and colored kids for both of us. This buck has proven his ability to work well in traditional or colored programs. We have collected semen on this stud buck and will continue to use his genetics in our program for years..

   2XL's Black As Lignite Homer

(Deceased)

 "Homer"

Although we lost this powerful black buck in the spring of 2006, we will continue to use his genetics in our breeding program. We will be using his genetics through the set of daughters that we have retained for our black Boer herd as well as through artificial insemination. He was a major building block in our black program and will continue to be a major part of this program for generations to come.

In the summer of 2001, we saw a need to add some new genetics to our colored goat herd. We began searching the internet and visiting Boer goat farms looking for a fullblood red or black Boer buck. We found black goats at "littleleagueranch.com". This is when we met Mr. and Mrs. Troy Powell of Benjamin, Texas. Because he had sold out of all of his fullblood red and black buck kids, we purchased a fullblood black doe that was bred to one of his black bucks and hoped for the best. This doe is one of our main does and we are very proud to display her on our webpage with the colored does.

In November of 2001, "Miss P." gave birth to a beautiful set of black twins. She had a doe and a buck.  From that day on, it was easy to see that "Homer" would be the black buck that we used in our colored program.

He has length, depth, natural thickness, a beautiful head, and set of horns. He is correct on his feet and legs and has a beautiful front. Homer's color and breed character should be an asset to our colored program. At ten weeks old he placed fourth out of a class of ten in the "Cream of The Crop" show in Henderson, Texas. The judge commented on his size, scale, breed character and natural muscling. Due to it being a sanctioned show and Homer not being of the correct color pattern he could not be used any higher in the class. In that show we were just happy to get noticed.

   Pedigree

"Tug"

This red buck belongs to John and Peggy Taylor at Rocky Springs Farm in Huntington, Texas. He is a very stout built buck that is full of breed character. Tug is one of the thickest well-muscled red bucks that we have ever seen. He stands very correct on his feet and legs. He has excellent bone, a long neck, a beautiful head, a smooth top, and a wide chest floor. This buck is one of the bucks that a red Boer program could be built around. Look for his name in the pedigrees of beautiful red goats in the future.

One look at this young red buck and we knew that we needed his genetics in our colored program. He has an outstanding pedigree and is linebred Kaptein (Ennobled). We at 2XL have made a deal with John and Peggy to use this buck on a select set of our colored does. We appreciate our friends at Rocky Springs Farm for sharing this beautiful buck with us.

These does kidded in late March and April of 2003. We are very pleased with the kids that we have from these mateings. You can see some of these kids on the "Just Pictures" page of this website. We will also be listing some of them on the "Goats For Sale" page as show wether prospects.
